7 consecutive defeats
Celta de Vigo dismisses Óscar García. The dismissal was an open secret after the team’s losing streak in LaLiga and its confrontation with the board. Celta de Vigo has seven games without winning. The last victory was achieved on matchday two against Valencia, which beat Real Madrid on Sunday. The hostility with the general director, Antonio Chaves, has also precipitated his departure. Óscar García expressed to the club the need for signings to be able to face the season properly.
Óscar García renewed his contract with Celta de Vigo on July 26. In the last four seasons, Celta have fired five coaches including García, Fran Escribá (2019), Miguel Cardoso (2018/2019), Antonio Mohamed (2018), Juan Carlos Unzué (2017/2018).
Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet, new coach
Throughout today, RC Celta de Vigo will announce the new coach of the first team. It is still an unknown who will lead the Galician team until the end of the season, however, the name of Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet sounds strongly. The Argentine is an old acquaintance at Celta, since he played during the 2002/2003 season. He is currently the coach of Sport Club Internacional, a Brazilian team that leads the championship.
